Ryan Moore’s prophecy came true as he rode Found to victory at the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe – and was rewarded with a kiss on the lips from Frankie Dettori.

Brighton jockey Moore had told trainer Aidan O’Brien that Found was a potential Arc winner and his judgment proved spot on as he guided the 6-1 shot home ahead of Ballydoyle stable-mates Highland Reel and Order of St George.

Postponed, previously unbeaten since joining Roger Varian and so impressive in the Juddmonte International when last seen, was all the rage as the 15-8 favourite, but could not pick up and finished fifth.

It completed an unprecedented clean-sweep for O’Brien in the showpiece race and Moore said: “To saddle the first three in an Arc, and to get three horses there in top shape and beat the best around, is quite incredible.

“It’s the hardest race to win in Europe every year. To have the first three home is unreal.

“She was in her best shape today and things worked out, back to a mile and a half and a nice, evenly-run race.

“She showed what she is capable of – at her best she is a very hard filly to beat.”

Found had finished second on her last five outings and was ninth in the same race 12 months ago but Moore got his tactics spot on yesterday.

He settled Found into eighth place before pulling clear with laughable ease in the final 250 yards to finish a length and three-quarters clear of Highland Reel.

O’Brien, claiming a second Arc triumph after Dylan Thomas had struck in 2007, said: “I couldn’t dream this would happen. You know how difficult the Arc is.

“We’ve had our eye on this for a long time. When Ryan rode her as a two-year-old and said she could win an Arc – he was obviously right.

“I’m so delighted for everyone. It’s a big team effort.”
