Sammy Donnelly has thrown his hat in the ring for the Eastbourne Town manager’s job after the resignation of Tony Reid.

Reid resigned after just four months in charge and his assistant Donnelly is the Ryman south club’s third boss this term after Kevin Laundon stepped down in August.

Donnelly, who has been placed in caretaker charge until a new manager is appointed, said: “They have asked me to take the game and I believe there will be a board meeting on Monday. I think he has gone for personal reasons.”

“I am more than interested in taking the job but it is down to the powers that be. We’ll see what materialises.”
