Eastbourne Borough are ready to put even more faith in their academy youngsters.
Max Taylor is the latest to sign Conference south forms with the men from Priory Lane.
Taylor made his first team debut last season, scoring as a substitute in a Sussex Senior Cup tie with Shoreham, and has trained with the first team.
He is the latest member of the academy side – run by manager Tommy Widdrington’s No.2, Jay Lovett – who looks set to make an impression on the first team squad.
Another, midfielder Ryan Worrall, has signed a professional contract with Borough.
Worrall converted a penalty with his first touch after coming on as substitute as Sports salvaged a 1-1 draw in their FA Cup tie at home to Enfield Town last Saturday. He then started the replay on Tuesday which Widdrington’s side went on to win on penalties after a 4-4 draw.
It was another academy player, Dean Bown, who sent the game to a shootout, scoring Borough’s fourth goal and equaliser four minutes from the end of extra-time.
It was Bown’s second goal for the first team this season.
Borough host Staines Town today, when Richard Pacquette completes a three-match ban. James Walker and Charlie Losasso remain sidelined by injury.
