Eastbourne Borough boss Tommy Widdrington admits patience is the key with summer signing Charlie Losasso.

The former Reading and Bournemouth midfielder has yet to make his debut for Borough due to a knee injury.

He will again be missing when Widdrington’s side host Ryman premier Enfield Town in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup today.

The Borough boss said: “It is frustrating for me and frustrating for him. I feel for him but I’m absolutely confident when he does come back he will improve us.

“His ability on the ball and knowledge of this level will be invaluable to us.

“Charlie is itching to get back. He is not too far away but we need to heed the words of the specialists. It seems to have taken a long time and we are disappointed it has taken as long as it has but so is he.”

James Walker will be missing for another six weeks as he recovers from a hamstring injury which has ruled him out of the last two matches and fellow striker Richard Pacquette begins a three-match ban.

Widdrington expects a tough game with an Enfield side placed 17th in Ryman premier.

He said: “Anybody who thinks because you are in a higher league that it entitles you to win is sadly wrong. A couple of weeks ago I watched MK Dons beat Manchester United. Enfield have earned their right to be in the draw.”
