Albion will be without Beram Kayal for only the fifth time in their last 56 Championship matches at Ipswich tomorrow night.

The influential Israeli midfielder has been ruled out by an ankle injury which forced him off at the interval in Saturday's 2-0 home win against Barnsley.

Kayal is also an early doubt for Saturday's trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

Boss Chris Hughton told The Argus: "He's still a little bit sore, so he will miss tomorrow, then we will assess it over the next day or so and see if, hopefully, he can be fit for the weekend.

"The problem always when you go through a period like this is the games come thick and fast. If we think we have any chance for Saturday, then the turnaround for Tuesday is too quick."

The Argus: Kayal missed only three league games last season and one so far this season. He will be replaced tomorrow night by Ollie Norwood (above left) or Steve Sidwell.

On-loan West Brom left-back Seb Pocognoli is likely to make his league debut for the Seagulls at Portman Road, although Hughton has not ruled out alternatives to cater for Gaetan Bong's one-match ban.

"I have options," he said. "The obvious option, of course, is Seb. I also have Rob Hunt in the squad and Bruno can play at left-back.

"Decision-making is always a little bit more comfortable when you are on the back of a win."
