CHILDREN enjoyed getting active when their whole school came together to run a marathon.
More than 260 pupils from Denton Community Primary School in Newhaven each did a lap of the school field to collectively run the 26 miles and 385 yards - the official marathon distance.
Pupils from the nursery and school were cheered on by teachers and proud parents.
The marathon comes as the school has been teaching children about healthy eating. Pupils are now looking forward to a lunchtime athletics club.
Tania Buss, higher level teaching assistant, said: “The pupils did so many laps and did so well, we actually managed to do a marathon and a half. They absolutely loved it.”
