DRIVERS taken to court for speeding have been fined hundreds of pounds.

Iian King, 34, of Bevendean Crescent, Brighton, was fined £65 for driving over the 70mph limit on the A27 Arundel Road by Hammerpot on September 1. His licence was endorsed with three points.

Przemyslaw Chadacz, 37, of Hazel Close, Portslade, was fined £338 for speeding at more than 70mph on the A27 by Binsted, near Arundel, in his Mazda on October 16. His licence was endorsed with four penalty points.

Sharon Bolingbroke, 53, of Martens Field, Rodmell, was ordered to pay £120 by magistrates after she broke the 30mph speed limit in her Toyota on the A259 in Saltdean on October 20.

Her licence will be endorsed with three points and she has to pay court costs and a victim surcharge.

On the same day Weihan Chen, 23, of Longridge Avenue, Saltdean, was caught speeding in the same location in his BMW. He was fined £384 and was given six points on his licence.

Three days later Scott Clark, 44, of Richmond Road, Westerton, Chichester, drove his Saab over the 30mph speeding limit on the A285 Station Road in Petworth and was ordered to pay £220. He also had his licence endorsed with three points.

A week later Natalie Daniel, 32, of Westloat Lane, Bognor, broke the speed limit on the A259 at North Bersted in a Ford. She was fined £40 and three points were put on her licence.

All the drivers appeared before magistrates to answer for the offences. They will also have to pay at least £80 in court costs each and at least £30 to fund victim services.
