Pride 2008...well its here! Everyone thinks Pride is just a parade and a day in the park. As if. There is so much happening this year as there is ever year. It’s amazing the number of different events that we have going on. Over 70 events in so many different venues. So I am going to be all over the city. And what a fantastic city this is and that why it's Pride in Brighton and Hove. If you haven’t dipped into Pride then have a peek at the website www.brightonpride.org where you can see details of all the events.

At lunchtime, up at Devil’s Dyke is our launch event from 1pm. Orb 360 presenting Battle of the Balls! I cannot wait for this. Seeing several drag artists including Dave Lynn, Lady James, Sally Vate all “drag racing” in the big GIANT balls will be so funny. Who will become “Golden Balls 2008” I wonder?

On to the evening, as im a pianist too, I have been asked to play at the Gay Elderly Men’s Society “Keyboard Cuisine” at the Dorset Gardens Methodist Church. This should be an interesting event. They are having a meal which is being talked through and prepared whilst I am playing songs on the piano relating to food. Then everyone attending is guessing what I’m playing and the one who gets the most answers right is the winner. Hmmmm, I’m still thinking of a few last ideas of songs.

I will then head off to the Aquarium to see David Raven aka Maisie Trollette at the Aquarium. David is performing as himself and as a great friend and neighbour, I love seeing him on the stage. Also on tomorrow night is the City of Brighton Gay Mens' Chorus, direct from Last Choir Standing on BBC1 they should have an electric night of music at the Unitarian Church on New Road with host Lola Lasagne.

There will be many more events throughout the day. See www.brightonpride.org for the full listings.

PS Emerald City at the Amsterdam is on Sunday not Saturday as in our brochure Back tomorrow!!! Josh xxxx
