A Sussex beach cafe with "brilliantly colourful heated beach huts" has been included on a list of the best to visit in the UK.

Goat Ledge in St Leonards-on-Sea was included alongside six others in a list from The Week.

Discussing the creation of the list, the publication wrote: "Take a trip to the coast and eat at one of these beachside venues, which offer everything from locally caught fish to regional specialities – guaranteed to have no sand in the sandwiches and all served up with a side of sea view."

What was said about Goat Ledge?

Goat Ledge received plenty of praise for its food offerings including its Sunrise Sandwich which contains smoked haddock, fried egg and chilli jam.

Alongside that, there are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options such as the Vegan Goat Bap which consists of tofu and pickled red cabbage.

Citing a review from The Telegraph, The Week wrote: "There are tables on the beach for fine weather, or you can shelter in the cafe's "brilliantly colourful heated beach huts".

"And as the day draws to a close, "don't forget the sunset DJ sessions" on Thursday and Friday nights in summer."

Goat Ledge also offers plenty of baked options such as almond croissants, deluxe brownies and Bakewell tarts.

Meanwhile, in the summer there are plenty of treats that become available such as ice creams from local suppliers, smoothies and ice cream milkshakes.
