A teenager has pleaded to guilty to stabbing another boy in the back.

The 16-year-old boy, from Portslade, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and being in possession of a knife after a 15-year-old was stabbed in Valley Road, Portslade in August 2022.

Police were alerted to the stabbing by the ambulance service in the early hours of the morning. The victim has since made a full recovery after being treated in hospital for serious injuries.

Another 15-year-old boy from Hove also pleaded guilty to attempted robbery.

Both boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons due to their age, were arrested after fleeing the scene and being chased on foot by police officers.

A knife was found with a jacket which was linked by forensic evidence to the Portslade teen.

Both boys will be sentenced in September at Brighton Youth Court.
