AN investigation was launched after a man was stabbed in the early hours of the morning.

Emergency services were called to Cornwallis Gardens and the junction with Cambridge Road in Hastings where a 33-year-old was discovered with stab wounds to his body.

The victim was taken to the Conquest Hospital in St Leonards with serious injuries.

However they are not said to be life threatening.

The incident happened at about 1.30am on Saturday morning and police believe there would have been several witnesses around at the time.

Detective Constable Chloe Barden said: “We believe a large group of people were involved and there would have been lots of shouting and noise in the area.

“If anyone saw anything or has any information about this incident please contact us.”
