A DRIVER has died after the car he was driving crashed in a head on collision.
A 66-year-old man from Eastbourne was behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Corsa travelling westbound when it crashed into a Vauxhall Agila travelling in the opposite direction.
He died at the scene of the accident on the A27 Pevensey bypass on Monday (March 27) at around 3.23pm.
The Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance landed to treat those involved.
The driver of the Agila, a 72-year-old Hastings man, suffered serious injuries and was flown to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
He is in a stable condition.
A third vehicle, a Citreon C3, driven by a 62-year-old man from Hastings, collided with the rear of the Vauxhall Corsa.
He suffered a minor injury but did not go to hospital.
Witnesses are being urged to come forward.
