AN entertainment company is staging a one-off charity performance in recognition of one of their dancers who has a rare disease.

Full Beam Productions - based in East Dean near Eastbourne - is fundraising for The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Last year the group raised more than £4,000 last year for St Wilfrid’s Hospice after staging 14 shows in 14 days in 14 different places

Now it has chosen the cystic fibrosis organisation as its charity for 2017 with one of their dancers Nicole Allen as inspiration.

Ms Allen, 19, suffers from the condition – a genetic disorder which she has had from birth – and despite the illness affecting her lungs she managed to perform in the 14 consecutive shows last August.

She then worked as a fitness instructor abroad for two months and returned to rejoin the team for the touring pantomime which travelled throughout Sussex in December.

Now, Full Beam Productions owners Natalie Bradshaw and Jim Pyle want to raise as much money for the charity which supports research towards making Nicole, and other sufferers, have a better chance at living with the illness.

Natalie said: “Nicole is a true inspiration and without her our tours last year would not have been possible.

“We want to help give to a charity each year and it seems fitting that we should choose one which is a huge part of one of our dancers life.”

Full Beam Productions kick starts its 2017 fundraising campaign with a show entitled Swing With a Difference on March 25.

The show will feature some of the best talent in the county and takes place at Seaford Head School’s Arundel Site with doors opening at 6.40pm.

Natalie said: “This is set to be a brilliant show with stunning costumes, west end choreography, and fantastic singers - and it’s not to be missed.”

Tickets are available through onlineticketseller.com or by telephoning 07864 010885 and prices start from just £8.

Money from tickets, programmes, refreshments and bucket collections will go towards the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
